2002 Atlanta Symphony Decorators' Show House: Great
Room
This room began as a 35-foot-square empty space with a glare problem created
by a wall of windows. In order to make the room livable, we used natural
tones, a seagrass rug, and durable silk fabrics on large, comfortable
furniture, and applied a film to the windows that blocks the sun's ultraviolet
rays and 60% of the sun's heat. With the glare problem solved, the windows
were emphasized just enough to take advantage of the beautiful garden
views. What started as a cold, stark space is now a warm and comfortable
great room.
2003 ASID GA Design Excellence Award, Silver for Show
House/Model Home.
